Family Vacation: Part Two

After lunch at El Gallo, we headed over to South Congress, a funky street with lots of cool stores. At Saint Vincent de Paul thrift store, I found a Max & Ernie sundress, tortilla holder, and children's book written in French, all for $3.50!

It was a little hot outside, so we stopped at a snow cone stand for some refreshment. Then we stumbled upon a really awesome store, Uncommon Objects, filled to the brim with the coolest vintage items. I found two postcards from the 1950s, one from Houston and one from Pittsburgh!

Then we stopped for refreshment break #2 at Fran's Hamburgers, which is on Friday Night Lights!

You can't see it in the picture, but that poster is signed by every member of the FNL cast.

We spontaneously decided to see the movie Knight & Day. I had pretty low expectations for the film, but it was actually really, really funny! I would definitely recommend it for a good laugh.  After the movie, we had a late dinner at Kerbey Lane, a fun restaurant near UT. I had a delicious chipotle grilled cheese with sweet potato fries.

On Sunday, we drove over to San Antonio because Scott wanted to check out the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum. So, while Scott and my dad were touring the museum, the rest of us went to the Alamo and took a cruise on the Riverwalk.

We had to head home on Sunday night because silly Kidventure didn't give Allie Monday off. Oh well, it was still a really fun trip! Thanks Mom and Dad for making it happen!

Austin is such a cool city. I love that it has less chain stores/restaurants and slightly cooler weather. I would a pretty happy girl if Adam got into UT for grad school!
