Tis the Season

I am happy to report that we are all done with our Christmas preparations! Just in time to buckle down and study for finals. Here's how it all went down:

Gifts: We ordered everything online and had it shipped to Adam's parents' house. Then we just wrapped it all up over Thanksgiving.

Cards: We hand-wrote about forty cards for friends and family, also over Thanksgiving. And thanks to an awesome blogger promotion from Shutterfly, our cards came to the grand total of $30, including postage!

Cookies: Over the last week or so, we made four different types of Christmas goodies for our Sunday School classes, bible studies, priests at the Newman Center, and, of course, for ourselves. {Stay tuned for recipes tomorrow!}

Music & Movies: We've been listening to our "First Noel" Pandora station pretty much nonstop. We also picked out a movie for each weekend of advent. Last weekend was my choice, Four Christmases. This weekend, Elf, Adam's choice, is up!

Decor: We didn't do too much in the way of decor, but we love the Christmas cheer our few decorations bring to our home! We bought a little tree and some trimmings at Target.

And we have our Nativity set, advent calendars, and stockings displayed on the mantel in our bedroom.

I'm really proud of that felt flower garland I made, using leftover felt from our Halloween costumes. You can find the super-easy tutorial in this month's issue of Better Homes & Gardens.
