Compromise

Adam and I try to spend our free time doing activities that we both enjoy. I don't make him go shopping or work on projects {too often!} and he doesn't try to convince me to go running.

Sometimes, though, you've gotta compromise and do something you'd really rather not for the person you love. Which is exactly what happened this weekend.

On Friday night, after the Newman Center's weekly spaghetti dinner, we watched the first Lord of the Rings film.

Adam has been begging me to watch those movies with him for several months. I always put it off because, well, Gollum really freaks me out. But, it turns out that the movie wasn't quite as scary as when I first saw it in middle school. {Side Note: I initially saw it in seventh grade because I had a crush on Elijah Wood. When we were watching it on Friday, I kept thinking "Eww! What did I ever see in him? Why didn't I have a crush on Viggo Mortensen?"}

On Saturday night, we had dinner at Joe Mama's {an Italian place near campus} thanks to a Living Social deal. Then we headed to the dollar theater to see this.

Not exactly Adam's cup of tea, trust me. But I had read the book a while back and wanted to see the big screen adaptation. It was cute! Although, pet peeve. Why are they always changing the setting of books when they adapt them for the big screen? This was supposed to be set in London, not Boston. So was Confessions of a Shopaholic {only one of my fave books ever} and they moved it to New York. What is so wrong with British accents, really?

And that was pretty much our weekend.

    I think the reason for the changing of setting is due to higher production costs in England, but I could be wrong! I grew up watching British comedies and then the BBC, so I agree with you!
