1. As requested, here are some little videos of Claire looking cute and playing with her toys.
2. Adam's mostly been doing orientation stuff at work this week. He had a funny {yet tragic!} conversation with another new guy.
Adam: So, where did you go to school?
Other Guy: Western Washington.
Adam: Hey, they have a Chick-fil-A there!
Other Guy: How do you know that?
Well, of course, we knew where the only Chick-fil-A in the state was! Although the ones on college campuses are so not as good. But, the other guy informed Adam that they're closing it this summer. What is the world coming to?
3. Adam needed the car to get to work, so Claire and I have been hanging around the apartment all week. Luckily, there's a grocery store and park nearby that we've been making daily excursions to. Claire totally appreciated my need to stop the stroller to take that artsy flower picture.
4. I've had decent success with operation get Claire on a nap schedule. Over the course of our travels this summer, she developed a hatred for napping when not in the baby carrier or someone's arms. We haven't minded too much because:
a.) we know we brought this upon ourselves
b.) baby chest naps are pretty much the cutest thing ever
c.) she's a great night sleeper {she started sleeping six hours a night by two months old and worked her way up to ten hours a night by three months old}
But now that it's just me at home and I occasionally have to do other things besides hold Claire, things had to change. Three times a day, I lay down with her on our bed and sneak away once she falls asleep. I'm planning to transition her to the crib once we move into our real place and I have lots of unpacking to do.
5. We stumbled upon a dining table at a thrift store last week. It started out a lovely blonde wood and forest green color combo, but I'm slowly transforming it into something like this {the table I've been eyeing for quite some time, at more than six times the price}. Ah, the power of paint!
Claire is too cute!! Love that look of concentration as she plays with the owl. And Michael has that same play gym! The owl and the bird with the little balls are his favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you have any tips about the nap schedule, please share them! Michael is so resistant to going to sleep during the day even when he's tired, and tends to stay asleep for only half an hour or so. :(
Love the videos! I'm excited to see the apartment all decorated soon!
