Gems of the East Side: The Root Beer Store

We grew up in suburban Houston and went to college right in the middle of the city in Pittsburgh. Now, we are back in the suburbs again, this time on the east side of Seattle. We love being so close to Adam's work. From summer internships in Houston, we knew that avoiding a long commute was very, very important to us. We were also pleasantly surprised to discover all the quirky, independent shops and restaurants out here in suburbia.

The first of these quirky little places I will showcase is The Root Beer Store.

Rootbeer Store

True to its name, The Root Beer Store just sells root beer. Over a hundred varieties to be exact!

The shop only makes exceptions for other hard-to-find sodas. If you're hankering for a bacon-flavored carbonated beverage, The Root Beer Store has got your back.

We got a six-pack of different options to sample. It is amazing how unique each one tastes!

Our goal is to try all the varieties in stock. Perhaps we will then be honored with membership in the ARBE - the Association of Root Beer Enthusiasts.

Wouldn't it be fun to have a root beer tasting party one day?

  1. That is so, so cool! Seriously, can you imagine if you did eventually try over a hundred kinds? Everyone you meet ever would be so impressed! I know I would. Haha. And I bet it's much less expensive than the wine tasting hobby Jeff and I seem to be developing... 100 root beers could be done way faster than 100 wines!
