Allie's Visit

Last week, my sister, Allison, and her college friend, Macey, came to visit for their spring break! They flew in late Saturday night and on Sunday we headed out to explore Seattle.

We started the day with Mass at St. James Cathedral. Claire was so much friendlier than she was over Christmas! She was a little concerned when she woke up to some strangers sleeping in the apartment, but had completely warmed up to them by the time church was over. Amazing!

We headed over to the Pike Place Market for our favorite lunch of clam chowder and Beecher's mac & cheese.

After lunch, we checked out the Seattle skyline from Kerry Park.

And we ended the day with ice cream from Molly Moon's. Claire got her first taste! You could say she was a fan.

We spent Monday and Tuesday on a little trip to Victoria, BC. On Wednesday we threw a birthday get-together for Claire and on Thursday we went to Golden Gardens Park in Ballard. It's right on the beach with an amazing view of Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains.

On Thursday night, Allie and Macey graciously offered to babysit. Adam and I went to the movies for the first time since June! We saw Argo and really enjoyed it. Well, being Canadian, I have to say I was quite disappointed at how much they down-played Canada's role in the story. My family actually met Ken Taylor, the Canadian ambassador, in the Toronto airport once! My dad recognized him, which Mr. Taylor said doesn't happen very often...

Claire was so sad to say good-bye on Friday. We're so glad these beautiful ladies came to visit!
