Thankgiving

We started our Thanksgiving off with morning Mass, which was wonderful. Both girls were relatively well-behaved and we actually came really close to getting there on time. When we got home, Claire threw a huge tantrum about not being allowed to spend forever pretending to unlock the door, so she got sent to time-out and fell asleep right away, which actually worked out perfectly because we worried she'd having to skip her afternoon nap that day.

Thanksgiving

I dressed the girls in cute polka dot chambray shirts and I so wanted to get a picture of them together, but unfortunately Claire was not in a picture-taking mood that day.  Even with chocolate chip bribery, that was the best we got. At least Maggie was pretty obliging.

Thanksgiving

Our friends, Andy and Marie, invited us to their extended family's Thanksgiving dinner. The food was delicious and everyone was so welcoming. It was the farthest we've ventured with two kids (umm, a thirty minute drive) and things got a little crazy. Claire threw up on the way there, Maggie threw up on the way home. Between Maggie wanting to eat constantly and Claire just whining about everything, I think we only sat down at the table together for maaaaybe five minutes.

Thanksgiving

After dinner, we attempted another family picture, but Claire was too busy to participate...

Thanksgiving

On Friday, we had a few of Adam's co-workers who weren't traveling for the holiday over for a little Thanksgiving feast of our own.

Thanksgiving

We kept things pretty simple with a small turkey, mashed potatoes, broccoli with cheese sauce, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, whipped cream, and apple cider. We cheated and just used the ready-made gravy from Trader Joe's - shh!

 Thanksgiving

We couldn't convince Claire to replicate this picture from last year.

Thanksgiving

But at least the guys humored us.

Maggie, Six Weeks

I hope your Thanksgiving involved lots of newborn snuggles. And lots of pie too!

  1. I love Maggie's expressions! Happy to hear that you had a nice Thanksgiving even if the girls aren't pros at riding in the car yet :)
