We celebrated the fourth by packing a picnic lunch and going for a hike in Ohiopyle state park. It's about an hour outside of the city, near Fallingwater.
The trail we picked gave us some beautiful views of the river.
We ended up at a natural water slide. The water was pretty high, so it wasn't the best day for sliding. But two teenage boys were brave enough to give it a shot.
They were both limping when they got out of the water. Ouch!
It was a fun day. We definitely plan to come back again with our swim suits, although I'm not sure if we're brave enough for the water slide. And we'd really love to try white water rafting there someday!

Wow. I can tell from these pictures that you own a good camera! What type is it? (I'm very slowly saving money to a little stash to eventually buy one)
