Over the three-day weekend, we visited Alex and Kate {Adam's older brother and sister-in-law} in Bloomington, Indiana {where they're in grad school}.
The seven hour drive each way wasn't bad at all, mainly because of the fall scenery and a pretty sunset. Adam insisted on driving the whole time, which was perfectly fine with me. I am really enjoying this pregnancy side benefit of an extra attentive husband.
We arrived late Friday night. On Saturday morning, we hit up the farmer's market and walked around campus.
We were surprised to stumble upon our favorite sandwich place, which we've only seen in Texas. So, of course, we had to grab lunch there.
We spent the afternoon playing a ridiculously long board game, Diplomacy.
We had dinner at their favorite Thai place, followed by dessert at Baked, which is basically the Coldstone of bakeries. You get to pick your cookie dough and mix-ins, then you wait twenty minutes while they whip you up a batch of homemade cookies. Adam and I shared pumpkin chocolate chip cookies with cream cheese frosting. Yum!
On Sunday, we went to Mass at the university's Catholic Center, did some homework and went for a hike.
We ended the day by barbecuing for dinner and then playing another {much more fun} board game, Settlers of Catan. On Monday morning, we headed back to Pittsburgh. Such a great trip!
