Five on Friday

1. Spring cleaning commenced this week. The bathroom is complete!

2. We have gotten really, really bad about pressing the snooze button in the mornings. But this week, we got up with the first alarm every day! Saint Josemaria Escriva calls it "the heroic minute."

3. I've started knitting Adam's hat.

4. While compiling my recipe binder, I realized that I have never made chocolate chip cookies from scratch before. How can that be? I've heard this recipe is supposed to be the best ever, so I shall have to rectify the situation soon.

5. Shopping for baby gear is overwhelming. Bjorn or Ergo? Fuzzibunz or bumGenius? Sometimes, you just need to take a break. Preferably, with a Coke Icee.

  1. Yay! You're doing cloth diapers?! Bumgenius 4.0's are great - equally effective as prefolds with a cover, but easier and quicker to use. Can't speak to the Fuzzibunz. But let me know if you have any questions about CD's in general! I truly love preaching the gospel of cloth diapers.

Also, we used a Bjorn. It's good...but I wasn't fully satisfied with it. It hurts your back after a while. I've heard the Ergo is a lot better in that department.

Oh, and those sound like the freaking FANCIEST chocolate chip cookies ever. Hope they're worth all the effort!

  2. I use BumGenius 4.0 because they dry super fast. I like their new free time AIO too. I've really like our Tot Bots ones too, but they are pricy. We like Rumparooz because of their cute prints but they run really small - good for newborns though!

We have an Ergo with the infant insert. It's a little bulky with a tiny baby but it's super comfy. I like that it can be worn several ways as the baby gets bigger. Also, some carriers are for babies to face out and others to face in. Include that thought in your research. I just learned that yesterday!

  3. Okay so the recipe sounds amazing. The key here I think is the vanilla. Most recipes call for only 1 tsp, I always use two for mine. Also, I don't know if you do this already, but you should grease your pans with the butter wrapper, great use for them.
