Baby Gear: Toys and Books

Newborn Toys

Toys for when Claire is tiny:

- Skip Hop treetop friends activity gym. When I bought my diaper bag on Black Friday, I also found this activity gym marked down from $75 to $15.
- Melissa & Doug wiggling worm and rainbow fish grasping toys. We like Melissa & Doug toys because they're wooden and we prefer to avoid plastic when possible. We used two Living Social deals {to YoYo Toys and EcoMom} to buy all our Melissa & Doug toys.
- Ice cream cone rattles from Ten Thousand Villages and, of course, Sophie the Giraffe.

Older Baby Toys

Toys for when Claire's a little bigger:

- Melissa & Doug jumbo knob puzzles, rainbow stacker, and bead maze.
- Plan Toys dancing alligator.
- A cute knitted animal {we can't decide if it's a cow, moose or donkey} from Anthropologie that we couldn't pass up because its the nursery colors.

Baby Books

With the exception of some Sandra Boynton and Eric Carle board books we received as gifts, we've amassed quite the collection of children's books from Goodwill. When I pop in there about every other week or so, I always find a couple books we enjoyed reading as kids for under fifty cents a piece!
