Hey guys, it's Claire here. It's been about six months since I told y'all about my day-to-day life and things have sure changed since then! This is exactly what happened on Tuesday. Mom might have helped a little with the typing, but the opinions are all my own, promise.
6:45 am - I wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Dad comes to get me and we hang out for a few minutes while Mom finishes getting ready.
When I see Mom, I know it's time to eat. Not that I'm happy about it. You see, a few weeks ago I decided that nursing is the worst thing in the world. Mom thinks it's just a phase, but let's get real here. Nursing is so much more work than a bottle. I scream till I'm red in the face while Mom lectures me about how formula is expensive and not good for me and makes me spit up more. Blah blah blah. I eventually give in just to keep her quiet.
Afterwards, I really do feel a lot better. Mom changes my diaper {a majorly poopy one that Dad conveniently didn't notice} and gets me dressed for the day. When Dad gets out of the shower, it's time for breakfast.
Dad feeds me some squash and zucchini while Mom unloads the dishwasher. I know, I know, it's a little weird to have veggies for breakfast. But the early morning are when I'm in my happiest mood and most willing to try new things.
7:45 am - Enough squash. I play for a bit while Mom and Dad eat breakfast and say their prayers. Then, it's time for Dad to leave for work and for me to help Mom with her chores. Bummer. We fold the laundry and make the bed before I decide that I'm ready for a nap.
8:45 am - After a bottle and a little rocking, I am passed out.
9:45 - Well, hello again! I am feeling quite refreshed. That is until we have to go through that whole nursing ordeal again. I can tell that Mom's been pretty busy while I was napping. The kitchen is clean and the laundry is put away.
10:15 am - We are out the door headed to music class. As long as I have my three favorite toys, a blanket, and a burp cloth to play with, I am very content in my car seat.
11:30 am - Music class was a lot of fun. The songs are pretty cool, but my favorite part is chewing on the instruments. We stay to talk with the other moms and babies after class. I mostly stare enviously at all the kids who can crawl. How do they do that?
We stop at the grocery store on our way home. I have this diaper rash situation that's gotten out of control and Mom's more natural remedies don't seem to cutting it, so we decide to step it up.
12:00 pm - Music class is so exhausting! After another bottle and a little more rocking, it's nap time for me again.

1:15 pm - What did I miss? Honestly, it looks like Mom hasn't done much while I've been asleep. She says that she's enjoying her lunch break while she still can. We go through the whole nursing ordeal for the third time and then I finally get to play. Lately, I am really into rolling a bunch of times in a row to get where I want. Sometimes, that happens to be under the coffee table.
2:00 pm - I'm bored. Being limited to your back and tummy gets old pretty fast, let me tell you. Usually, we go for a nice long walk around this time {we live really close to an awesome trail} but today we have to pick something up at the Container Store. Otherwise known as Mom's happy place.
3:00 pm - I fall asleep in the car on the way home. Mom has a high success rate for transferring from the car seat to my crib, but today I am woken up by a scary Indian grandma in the elevator. After my bottle, Mom tries to get me back to sleep. I spend half an hour babbling and rolling in my crib before she realizes that, hello, I'm not tired anymore! Moms just don't understand how restful car seat naps can be.
3:45 pm - I hang out in my doorway jumper while Mom finishes some dinner prep.
We engage in our nursing battle of the wills for the last time that day and then read some stories. Mom always makes us say our prayers and read a story from the Bible before we get to my favorite book, Moo Baa La La La.
After stories, Mom surprises me with some more solid food. This is the first time I've eaten twice in a day and the first time I've had fruit. I can't believe my parents have been holding out on me like this! Banana is so, so much better than squash. I practically inhale the whole container.
5:15 pm - It's mail time! I absolutely love playing with junk mail. Tuesday is the best day for it because it's when all the grocery store flyers come. Crumpling every sheet of paper keeps me busy for quite a while.
5:45 pm - I am done. Just done. Being a baby is a lot of work! Mom tries to wait for Dad to get home to put me in the bath, because that's our special thing. But since maybe that car seat nap wasn't as restful as I claimed, she gives up and gets me into the tub.
6:00 pm - Dad gets home just in time to give me a bottle, while Mom cleans up my toys and works on dinner. I am so sleepy while eating that I forget to burp and then spit up enough to warrant an outfit change for both of us. Oops!
6:45 pm - Goodnight, world. I like it when Dad puts me to bed. He's a way better singer, no offense, and he knows a lot more songs. Mom just sings "Hush, Little Baby" over and over.
I'm not really sure what my parents do while I'm sleeping. I'm guessing it has something to do with that dinner Mom was working on and, knowing them, probably some tv. It must be pretty boring without me there!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteyou turned the tricky comment thing off, YES!
ReplyDeleteFun post! Moo Baa La La La is my favorite library loan yet! I'm thinking about hunting for it again this week :-). And, way to have such a schedule! Maybe someday I'll get there...
