Each year we've been married, we've picked out a Christmas ornament to represent something about that year.
Our first married Christmas, we picked a letter B to represent our first year with the same last name.
Last year, we found a little red house ornament that reminded us of our first apartment.
And this year, we got a Pitt ornament to celebrate us both being done with college.
We want to keep this tradition going with our children, so we also got Claire a personalized first Christmas ornament of her very own. I'm excited to see her personality blossom and choose something that represents her spunky self next year!
Love this tradition. :) Keith and I both bought a fair number of ornaments into the marriage, so I'm having a hard time convincing him we should get a new one each year ... hehe.
ReplyDeleteThis is a sweet idea, but I just keep doing the math in my head, and realizing that after just, say, 10 years...you could have SO many ornaments! And it would be impossible to give any away, because of the nostalgia factor. haha - we have enough "clutter" as it is!
