For the seven years between my confirmation as a sophomore in high school and Claire's arrival a year after my college graduation, I got to teach Sunday School and loved every minute of it. I've definitely missed helping out at church somehow since becoming a stay-at-home mom.
But, then I read in the bulletin that they were trying to find someone to join the linen ministry and I knew that it was exactly what I was looking for. Now, once a month I pick up all the linens after Mass on Sunday, wash them, iron them while watching a movie, and return them while we're at the church for playgroup.
Helping the church out a little while watching Downton Abbey? Yep, that's my kind of ministry.
