Favorite Cookbooks

These are my two favorite cookbooks:

Favorite Cookbooks

They are very comprehensive and filled with simple recipes. I have tried many recipes from each and have yet to find one that we didn't enjoy. I am kind of the opposite of a pack rat and don't like keeping cookbooks around that I only use one or two recipes from.

Of course, also at the top of my list, are the Pioneer Woman's two cookbooks! Another recent favorite is The Cowgirl Chef, which combines my two loves - French cuisine and Tex Mex.

What is your go-to cookbook?

    1. It's basically the opposite of Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Recipes that really French women cook for the families everyday! I've only had it for a few months, but so far we've tried:

      - Chicken, Comte, and Spinach Salad
      - White Bean, Turnip, and Greens Soup
      - Honey Mustard Tuna Steaks
      - Crepes
      - Lemon Tart
      - Chocolate Mousse
      - Basic Dijon Vinaigrette
      - Pie Crust
      - Pizza Crust

Everything has been simple, delicious, and made with easy-to-find ingredients!

  2. My go-to is the 1969 Betty Crocker cookbook. It's the one my mom used, and it's just filled with basic good-old-fashioned-American cooking. I consult it first for everything new I try.
