I started this little journal four years ago, as a sophomore in college. I worked in the computer lab and discovered blogs as a way to put off doing my homework! I love that this corner of the internet has been there to document getting engaged, studying abroad, getting married, graduating from college, welcoming our first child, and moving to Seattle.

I thought I would use this four-year blogiversary as an excuse to introduce myself. You already know the basics: I am married to my high school sweetheart. He's a software engineer and I stay home with our sweet baby girl. We're Catholic!
But, allow me to elaborate:
I am on a one-woman crusade to bring Chick-fil-A to Seattle.
My idea of a good time is a leisurely trip to Target or Trader Joe's.
Ironing is my favorite chore because it's the only one that involves watching tv.
Being organized and schedule-oriented is crucial to my sanity. I have a slight obsession with
storage containers and have been diagnosed as a Martha Stewart fiend.
I love sending and receiving real mail. Countless times, Adam has heard all about how sad I am that our children might grow up in a world where thank-you notes no longer exist.
If I could win an imaginary sweepstakes, it would involve a trip to London with a chance to meet Sophie Kinsella and a Boden/Cath Kidston shopping spree.
Besides my parents and siblings, I know there a few more folks out there reading this silly diary of mine. I would be forever grateful if you also introduced yourselves!
P.S. Maybe for year five I can convince Adam to do a vlog?
I am always impressed by your extreme organization. I used to be like you, but when I got married and had babies, and that gene has somewhat morphed into a less impressive, definitely not always organized, and on top of things gene. I am always slightly jealously impressed by all you do! It's a good motivator!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a little over a year. I found your blog through Natasha's blog. Although we have never spoken, you may have seen me around the Newman center in years past. I thoroughly enjoy your blog and your blog was the gateway for me to start reading Katie B's blog, as well.
ReplyDeletePs I use a pseudonym on here so that I cannot be easily tracked by potential employers :-)
I have no idea how I found your blog, but I love it! Young Catholic families are my favorite inspiration. I've been super impressed with all your travels and adventures, especially with a baby in to.
ReplyDeleteI've commented a few times over the years....but HI, I'm Elizabeth. I love meeting new folks via the blogging community, photographing life, and seeing the world with my husband by my side!
Hi, I have been reading your blog for over a year. I am Allison's schoolmate at Texas Woman's University, class of 2013. I hope you won't find it creepy because that was not my intention at all. I just find your blog really interesting. I am impressed by how organized and creative you are and I want to learn from you. I am an Applied Mathematics major and through your blog I discovered that your husband may know one of my coworkers, Carsen Stringer (we met through a summer research program at OSU), and one of high school friends, Nhan Pham (he is a software developer engineer in Seattle).
ReplyDeleteHi Linh! Adam actually does know Carsen! They did an REU together at Pitt in the summer of 2011. What a small world, right?
