At the beginning of October, we took the girls in for their twice annual haircuts. The little kids' salon with chairs that look like airplanes and cars is just the cutest. It's in a local mall with tons of quarter rides (hooray for cheap entertainment!) and our favorite pizza place.
The following weekend, Claire went to a horseback riding lesson at the city farm park, another twice-a-year tradition. Maggie was so sad that she didn't get to participate! Thankfully, she'll be old enough to join in the spring. Our friends from Alberta invited us over to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving. My parents switched over to American Thanksgiving many years ago but, hey, we'll take any excuse for pie!
Last weekend, we went to a local pumpkin patch, where we posed with cut-outs, picked an overpriced pumpkin out of a muddy field, and enjoyed a snack of kettle corn and apple cider. Traditions!

This weekend, we finally got around to raking the ridiculous amount of leaves in our front yard which, of course, made a pile perfect for jumping in.
And we followed that by turning our pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern.
I loved seeing their reaction to the goop and seeds inside the pumpkin. Let's just say they don't enjoy getting their hands dirty!
