God is Good.

Ever since Adam and I got engaged, I've been dreaming about our future apartment. Particularly, this beautiful quilt from Anthropologie.

It's got my favorite colors - navy, yellow, and coral. But it's also almost $400!

At Mass on Sunday, our priest spoke about his experience working with the gypsies of Rome while he was in seminary. He told a story about a family that felt so blessed to have a priest in their home that they served him their last bread and milk. As he was preparing to leave their home, it started pouring rain. The family gave him their only umbrella. When he tried to refuse these gifts, asking how they would live without them, the mother said that God gives them everything they need.

Although I was sitting in a huge cathedral, I felt like the priest was only talking to me. I remembered everything God has blessed me with, from a loving family to a tuition scholarship. I remembered how I am always wanting more. I remembered this verse:

"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment." - 1st Timothy 6:17

And then I tried to forget about the quilt from Anthropologie.

  1. But did you forget???

This is a great lesson. I run and chase after things all the time with worry and I never remember that God provides me with everything I need.
