We spent all last week cleaning, unpacking, organizing, and decorating. We're almost, almost done - just need to hang curtains in the bedroom and living area. We love how our little apartment turned out.
Of course, we were on a super strict buget when it came to furnishings. Adam's siblings gave us a really large Ikea gift card as a wedding gift, which we used to buy the dresser, dining set, and couch. My parents gave us a mattress and Adam's parents gave us a TV. Our parents also gave us some old furniture - a desk, tv stand & two lamps {which we painted black} and some nightstands {which we painted yellow.} I already had the bookcase from a previous apartment - we spray painted it teal and then turned one side into a bulletin board {to hide a mistake!}. I haven't figured out the exact numbers, but I know we spent way less than $500 on everything - not bad, huh?
