For Christmas, we gave Claire a set of stainless steel toy keys, a Magnificat board book, and a magnetic felt alphabet. She also got a bath toy and some cereal puffs in her stocking.
Except I'm not quite down with the alphabet yet. Six more letters to go! I am following this tutorial and have been working on them since the beginning of November, although not with 100% dedication. If she had mentioned how long it took her to sew these, I might definitely would have chosen something else. Maybe she's just a way, way quicker seamstress than I am, which is a distinct possibility.
We gave each other the Catholicism series, which we found for a steal on eBay, and two smaller gifts each. We found some Trader Joe's candy and luggage tags in our stockings.
I'm ridiculous and it bothered me that our luggage tags were all mismatched. While I wouldn't mind a set of monogrammed leather tags, that is obviously not going to happen, so I made my own. Did you know Kinko's {I can't get used to calling it the FedEx store} has little laminate pouches specifically for luggage tags? I just made some business cards in Publisher with a fun font and some digital scrapbook paper and then had them laminated for less than a buck each. If you actually knew anything about graphic design, you could make these really, really cute!
Okay, I promise I will shut up about Christmas now. For real.
Too funny, I did luggage tags for Christmas too! I figured we're going to be at this address for a while, so it was worth it to get some nice ones! I bought two of these (largely because I had a coupon and was buying other stuff from the same website and had to get to $75 for free shipping...haha!) - http://www.PersonalizationMall.com/Personalized-Wood-Luggage-Tags-Classic-Monogram-i37810.item?productid=14102&sdest=Search&sdestid=25310104
ReplyDeleteWhen they arrived, they had little scratches on them, so I emailed the company and they ended up sending me new ones, so now we have two perfect ones and two slightly-scratched-but-totally-usable ones, and I can't wait to travel somewhere!
I love Claire's Christmas sleeper!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am way impressed by the alphabet magnets!
