A Much Better Day

Monday and Tuesday of this week weren't my favorite. Claire didn't sleep well and whined constantly. {I suspect teething is to blame, but no proof yet.} I went back and forth between wondering how on earth I'm going to care for two kids on my own and feeling ready for Maggie to arrive so at least there's some variety in the crying I hear all day long.

Where did my baby go?!

But today was so, so much better. We went to the playground and story time at the library. Claire took a long afternoon nap.  I got all my chores done, made dinner, and did three loads of laundry. I'm talking washed, folded, and put away. {Usually the putting away part never happens the same day.}
The biggest surprise of all is that Claire actually ate vegetables! Here she is feeding herself some split pea soup. In the video, you can see that she's using her left hand. Intriguing!

In honor of my much better day, I thought I'd share some links I've enjoyed this week:

I loved this funny story about avocados and mom-petition.

Katie's baked coconut shrimp recipe is my new favorite thing. At least until I try her cookie dough frozen yogurt...

Grace's "Conversations with Julia" posts never disappoint.

I've been living vicariously through Jenny's house tour. So bad, but so good.

Kendra's post on why ten is the game-changing age gave me a light at the end of the tunnel. Too bad it's more than eight years away...

I found this article on parenting in Norway so fascinating. Can't wait for the rest of the series!

Although it doesn't seem to follow the actual events very closely, I really want to see this movie about the making of Mary Poppins.

Have you heard that my favorite modest clothing site, Shade, is going out of business? Shop before it's too late! My all-time favorite little girl's store, Janie and Jack, is also having a major clearance sale that is requiring a whole lot of restraint on my part.

Most importantly, let's all beg Rosemary to write another chapter of her love story!

  2. Uh oh. It was probably not good of me to know about Janie and Jack ... love their stuff, but almost never buy it because it's so darn expensive! My MIL has gotten us a few things from there though. :)

    Hopefully I will post the next part this weekend! I'm a very picky writer so it takes me a while, hehe.
