My sister, Allie, and her roommate, Kailin, came in for a quick visit over the weekend. (This trip was actually planned for a while. Allie also happened to be able to move around her schedule to be here when Maggie arrived sooner than expected.) It was great to see them!

But on a much less upbeat note, Adam's paternal grandfather passed away on Sunday. (Adam's middle name, Warren, is in honor of him and Claire's middle name, Camille, is in honor of his late wife.) He was ninety-two years old and one of the kindest men I've ever met. I'm so glad we got to visit him in Louisiana several times since we were married.

Maggie, Three Weeks Old

Unfortunately, Adam won't be able to attend the funeral because Maggie is being baptized the day before and the flights just won't work out well for him to go to both. Adam was actually baptized on his grandpa's birthday twenty-three years ago, so it's kind of a neat coincidence that his daughter is being baptized almost the same day his grandpa will be buried.

  1. Oh, I'm so sorry for your family's loss. It sounds like he lived life very well though. And I agree that it is such a neat "God thing" for Maggie's earthly life to start just as her grandpa's heavenly life begins. xoxo

  2. I'm sorry to hear of your loss, Caitlin (and Adam). What a blessing you were able to spend time with him these past few years, and that you have those photographs!

You are awesome.
